Principles of Running a Successful Business

  1. Give GOD a place of honor in your business.
  2. Maintain values in your business that will make God pleased.
  3. Your business is separate from YOU.
  4. Do NOT confuse your business finances with your personal finances.
  5. You must have a plan for your business.
  6. You must work the plan.
  7. It is NOT okay to spend more than you get back in.
  8. Only take money out of profits, NEVER out of operating funds.
  9. Treat your customers with respect and care.
  10. If you keep your customers needs always first and your needs second, your business will succeed!
  11. If you always worry about your needs ahead of your customers, you will NOT succeed! The customer will NOT wait for you if you are late!
  12. Everything your customers pay you is NOT profit!
  13. Treat your employees with respect.
  14. Keep your financial records up to date at all times.
  15. You must measure your progress.
  16. Successful business owners work hard to manage their time and make all of their business hours productive.
  17. You CANNOT always borrow money if you need to, so you must demonstrate your ability to repay your existing debt.
  18. Always use some of your profits to find ways to improve your business.
  19. You CANNOT think that you do not have to repay your loan. Your loan is not a hand-out but rather a hand-up. God expects you to be a good steward of that money.
  20. You MUST attend your support group weekly meetings as part of your responsibility as an entrepreneur and borrower.

Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality.  At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need.

Then there will be equality, as it is written:  “He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.”

– 2 Corinthians 8: 13-15
